聖若望足球隊勇奪五人學界冠軍
石籬聖若望天主教小學足球校隊於12月10日（星期三）在中國香港學界體育聯會（葵涌區）主辦的2025–2026年度「葵涌區小學校際五人足球比賽」決賽中⚽️，以6比4擊敗對手，勇奪冠軍🏆，為學校爭取最高榮譽，並將首次代表葵涌區晉身全港小學足球比賽，迎接更高層次的挑戰。
為支持球隊爭勝，特別感謝前家教會主席高志超先生安排線上直播，讓學校得以特設全校直播，師生一同觀賞決賽，見證精彩時刻，進一步提升校園體育氛圍。另外，感謝體育組安排各校隊成員組成啦啦隊為球員打氣；家教會主席潘永權先生與各位家長亦到場振奮士氣，現場加油聲此起彼落、氣氛熱烈，充分展現同學對學校的歸屬感、上下一心及互相扶持的團隊精神，他們每一次掌聲與鼓勵，都是足球隊最堅實的後盾。
回望四強賽，球隊在落後0比2的逆境下堅持信念，最終以3比2絕地反勝。那一戰，讓全校看見聖若望同學的韌性；而決賽則見證了他們的成長與努力。全隊上下盡展「勤、勇、撲、誠」的校訓精神，以堅毅且不放棄的態度完成賽事。這座獎盃，不僅是榮譽，更是一堂關於團隊、毅力、信念與人生的課。
陳校長對球隊表現深感自豪，讚揚同學在比賽中展現堅毅不屈、永不放棄的體育精神；同學在球場上的拼搏、互相鼓勵與尊重對手的態度，正好體現學校重視全人發展與品德教育的理念。校長期望同學把在球場上學到的合作與堅持，帶到日常學習與生活之中，繼續努力，裝備自己，回饋社會，貢獻國家。
家長亦分享感受，感謝學校安排直播及同學入場打氣，讓球員在關鍵時刻更具信心：「聽到同學的吶喊和掌聲，我們感受到整所學校都在背後支持學生，令大家更加團結，隊員亦用盡全力踢好每一球。」

Shek Lei St. John’s Football Team won the championship of the 2025–2026 Kwai Chung District Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition
The football team of Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School won the championship of the 2025–2026 Kwai Chung District Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition, organised by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation (Kwai Chung District), on Wednesday, 10 December, by defeating their opponents 6–4 in an exhilarating final ⚽️🏆. This victory brings the highest honour to the school and, for the first time in history, qualifies the team to represent Kwai Chung District in the All-Hong Kong Primary Schools Football Competition, where they will face even greater challenges.
To support the team, we extend special thanks to Mr. Ko Chi-chiu, former Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, for arranging the online live stream, which allowed the school to set up a whole-school broadcast. Teachers and students watched the final together, sharing the thrilling moments and further enhancing the sporting atmosphere on campus. We also thank the PE Department for organising cheer squads formed by members of various school sports teams, and PTA Chairman Mr. Poon Wing-kuen together with many parents who came to the venue to boost morale. The continuous cheers and electric atmosphere fully demonstrated the students’ strong sense of belonging to the school, unity from top to bottom, and mutual support. Every round of applause and encouragement became the strongest backing for our football team.
Reflecting on the semi-final, the team stayed resilient while trailing 0–2, eventually staging a stunning comeback to win 3–2. That match let the entire school witness the toughness of St. John’s students, while the final showcased their growth and dedication. The whole team embodied the school motto “Diligence, Courage, Humility, Sincerity,” completing the tournament with determination and a never-give-up attitude. This trophy is not merely an honour; it is a profound lesson about teamwork, perseverance, faith, and life itself.
Principal Chan expressed immense pride in the team’s performance, praising the students for displaying an indomitable and never-surrender sporting spirit during the matches. Their fighting spirit on the pitch, mutual encouragement, and respect for opponents perfectly reflect the school’s emphasis on whole-person development and character education. The Principal hopes that students will carry the cooperation and perseverance learned on the football field into their daily studies and lives, continue striving, equip themselves well, give back to society, and contribute to the nation.
Parents also shared their feelings, expressing gratitude to the school for arranging the live broadcast and on-site cheering: “Hearing the shouts and applause from fellow students made us feel that the entire school was standing behind our children. It brought everyone closer together, and the players to give their very best in every minute of the game.”
This outstanding achievement not only highlights the players’ athletic talent and hard work, but also testifies to the success of Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School in sports development and character formation. It promotes balanced growth in the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic domains, bringing tremendous inspiration and encouragement to all teachers and students.
